Seasonal Home Care
Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter
Examine the foundation walls for cracks, leaks or signs of
moisture, and repair as required before the problem worsens.
Winter weather can cause damage to outdoor fences. Spring
is a good time to repair and paint them, as necessary. Inspect and touch up exterior paint.
Make sure that the sump pump is operating properly
before the spring thaw sets in, and check to ensure that discharge pipe is
connected and allows water to drain away from the foundation.
Cut back any trees or shrubs touching the exterior (twice
per year).
Re-level any exterior steps or decks which moved due to
frost or settling, and could cause injury if left unattended.
Inspect roof for warping, aging, moss, and cracking.
Clean exterior of upper-story windows (twice per
year).
Clean gutters and inspect downspouts (twice per
year).
