Research the builder's warranty track record.  You want to make sure you're getting the best deal and not have to attend to unexpected surprises in the future.

Look at the amount of time the builder has been in business.  Seasoned builders will have a good handle on most situations and be able to answer any questions you might have.

Look for advice throughout the home buying community for the builder's reputation.  The best way to find out how good a builder is comes from testimonials from customers who have dealt with that builder. 

Confirm the builder has prompt and easy lines of communication.  If it is difficult to get in touch with a builder if you have questions or concerns, the chance that you will be 100 percent happy with your home decreases.  Communication with your builder throughout the entire process is key to success.
